Clark and Holmes Marked Ambro - Remains To Be Seen

Crisp, clear image of an older man. Stamped on mat "Clark & Holmes Troy NY Pat July 11, 1854" Holmes, Henry. Active in Troy N.Y. 1855-1861. In 1855 he partnered with Thomlinson in the Museum Bldg. at Fulton and River streets. In 1856 he partnered with C.R. Clark. They moved to 308 River Street in 1861. This is a very important image form the 1850s and an even more important photographer. See close up of mat stamp.
